Challenge

Impact Instrumentation builds medical ventilator devices that are used in hospitals as well as during ambulance transport for patients with acute or chronic respiratory failure. For a new project, they wanted to achieve 100% structural code coverage on their target to support FDA certification.

Solution

Impact Instrumentation used VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/RSP to perform low-level requirements testing, and structural coverage analysis. The Uni-Vent® Model 731EMV portable intensive care ventilator achieved FDA certification in 2009.
